Doom 3 is one of the loves of my life. The first doom 3 prop that i saw was an amazing wooden manually crafted pistol on some blog, many many years ago. I wish i had the super skills necessary for that, making props seemed cool, but impossible for me to achieve.

Quite a lot of years later, once home 3d printers became popular, it turned somewhat easier for people to make props, so about recently i decided to try and print the game pistol of my dreams.
Also, a 3d model by a pro modeler made it possible, which was available on "Etsy", a wonderful reproduction with enhanced details, for just some euros.
And well, with that and some tutorials and stuff, i managed to have a shot.
the result has been sort of decent, but far from what could be expected from real prop makers. The printer did so good, but i spoiled it by diluting the details and shapes, as i misapplied a layer of epoxy resin, which ruined the result a bit.
From a distance it looks ok , but when looking closely the bad part shows up, the bad melting of the shapes and the resin, and uneven surface due to resin residuals and clumsy sanding. The original author prop on Etsy was way better than this my attempt, but well... i tried.

Printer used was a Prusa Mk3.
3d Model by "DreamofProps" on Etsy.
The 3d model was scaled down to 87% of the original size because 100 was way too big.
